when my green hope withers in the gathering dust
and its faintest stirrings shrivel in the sobbing wind
when apathy invades this sluggish spirit
and my drowsy will sinks into the soft bed of despair
it is then You come to me
with the grace of dawn
bending me to a new beginning
You show me you are the soul of the earth
and its very heartbeat throbs to your Holy pulse
with mighty hands
You lift me from corrupt soil
choke out the deadroot
until cultivated in the perfection of Your light
I rise up, once again
trellised in Your goodness
